Torres is Not Lost Yet, He is still a World Class Player

Yes it is true, the Spaniard Fernando Torres is having a worrying time not only with his current club Chelsea but with his National side Spain to. People say Torres is no longer a player he was three seasons ago when he joined an English Club Liverpool for the first time in his life. They are forgetting that Torres has achieved a number of things in his wonderful football career which no other player has even come near by. Fernando is still a world class player and he is and will always be called as EL NINO.

Here are some fantastic achievements he had earned in his life:

Fernando Torres started his football career in a Spanish Side called Athletico Madrid in the year 2001. He had 174 leagues appearances for the La Liga team scoring 75 amazing goals. Torres also scored the winning goal in the Euro Cup final leading Spain to victory and making them the Champions of Europe.

That is where the former Liverpool boss Benitez received attraction and immediately brought him to English football for a fee worth to be 20 million pounds. Just after joining Liverpool, Torres become adapted so well with the pace of the English game that he netted 30 times in his first season breaking the record of the former Manchester United striker Ruud Van Nistrelrooy. He was the second foreign player to ever do that.

With the help of the Spaniard, Liverpool were really close to end their drought of winning the Barclays Premier League crown after 17 years but just at the end, the Arsenal winger Arshavin ruined the party for them by netting four unbelievable goals a Anfield.

So when did his poor form start?

Just before the World Cup, he suffered a major hamstring injury which kept him out for a few matches when he was still playing for Liverpool. But some miracle happened during that time and he was cleared fit to play in the Spain squad and flew to South Africa. He did play in the World Cup matches but did not score a single goal which amazed millions of people. Even the Spain manager did not believe and had to strip him off from the first team. We all thought that it would be temporary but that injury really lost his confidence and spirit. Torres still continued to play for Liverpool but he was not dangerous and fearsome as before. He lacked something. Fernando got so frustrated that he actually requested the board to place him on the transfer window and he on the spot purchased by Chelsea.

A new era had begun for Torres and he hoped he would regain his form back but with due respect, he has not got it back. Torres is no longer a marvelous striker he was before and after his match against Manchester United on the 18th September 2011 and missing such an open goal which resulted to utter shame, i fear to say this but many fans are starting to lose hope in him.

But fans of Chelsea, do not forget that he is the EL NINO of Spain. It is true that he has lost his form back but see the positives of the match against Man Utd. He scored a goal, his dribbling skills are coming back, it's just that he has not got his shooting boots yet. Just wanted to say this that, please believe in him, give him confidence that he can do better and support him in his hard times. Every footballer has his good and bad times and i am pretty sure he will bounce back in the next game for Chelsea and show his worth how valuable he is.

TORRES IS STILL A WORLD CLASS PLAYER.

Has Wenger taken a gamble on Arteta and Benayoun?

The Frenchman Arsene Wenger completed unbelievable signings on the deadline day by acquiring the signings of the talented 29 year old Spanish Midfielder from Everton and Yossi Benayoun from Chelsea on season long loan. Let us start comparing them with their attributes.

Mikel Arteta

Mikel Arteta was linked with Arsenal two seasons ago but never completed his move to the Emirates however Arsene always admired his abilities but just that he never had the chance to show what he is capable off. In an interview Mr Wenger also said that Mikel made the right decision to join the gunners as this will also boost him to the Spanish National side soon and make his debut for his National team.

But the question is in Arsenal's fans mind, does he have the quality to replace Fabregas in the midfield? At the moment, after seeing his first two matches against Swansea and Borrusia Dortmund, Arteta has not actually shown what he truly is. Yes he has played well but not to the standard that the fans were expecting. He made very many mistakes and errors in the Swansea game especially in the second half. He has not delivered any magical balls which Fabregas was delivering. Arteta does look promising but not relishing at the moment. In my opinion, Wenger has made a very good signing but on the other side, i feel that he has taken a gamble on the 29 year old Spaniard.

Also i feel that probably Mikel needs more time on the pitch since he suffered a very major injury at the end of last season with Everton. For him to win the hearts of Arsenal, he should start performing extra well and should have great combination with other of his teammates. But still, Arteta has got a lot of experience. The only place where i feel he does lack experience is in the six yard arena and in the UEFA Champions League competition.

Yossi Benayoun

The Israeli Captain had a very frustrating campaign with Chelsea last season and when he got the chance to join Arsenal, he immediately took it and boy what a team player he has started to be for Arsenal. In his first two games, he has looked very promising and active. I feel Yossi will be one of the best players for Arsenal and i will not be worried at all if Wenger snatches him permanently from Chelsea. Benayoun strongest point is, he can control and dribble the ball very well. He does not fear to go for the ball also. He can defend at critical times as well.

In my opinion, first i thought that why on earth is Wenger buying a player who has not even played more than ten games for Chelsea but the way how he has started his new career with the gunners, Benayoun has proved everybody wrong.

The only thing we hope that both Arteta and Benayoun do not get injured because if they do, then who will replace them with already Jack Wilshere and Tomas Rosicky and Abou Diaby injured. They are great players. They still have got to show a lot for the gunners.

Match Preview : UFEA - Chelsea vs Bayer Leverkusen

Chelsea will host Bayer Leverkusen in the first Group E match of the UEFA Champions League on 13th September 2011 at 2.45pm EST and it will be live from Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea

Chelsea have made a marvelous start to the campaign by winning all their matches in the Premier League, some comprehensively and some not however a win is still a win. Chelsea have never won the UEFA Champions League trophy, the last time when they came near was when they met Manchester United in an all English final at Moscow but lost in penalties. Will this season be Chelsea's turn and finally lift the trophy? Let us see. First of all, Chelsea have to clear the group stages then think of winning. Chelsea look very much forward to this match against the German side and they hope to go with all guns blazing hence getting the three points but they also know that it will not be easy even if they are playing at home. The new fresh midfielder bought from their bitter rivals Liverpool Raul Meireles will be hoping to play his first UEFA Champions League game since joining to an English side. The new striker Romeu Lukaku bought from Anderlacht will also be hoping to make his debut for Chelsea.

Bayer Leverkusen

It will be a very emotional return for the former Chelsea player Michael Ballack who spent four successful years with them and won the Premier League and Carling Cup crown during his time there. Michael Ballack said, it is going to be a very special return for me. In his time, Ballack won a premier league medal, three FA Cup victories and a Carling Cup medal. He was also part of the team when agonizingly lost the UEFA Champions League medal in penalties. Ballack also quoted " "I was very happy. For me the draw could hardly have been any better. I am looking forward to travelling there again, to playing there. Emotionally this will certainly be a special match for me." Source acquired from uefa.com.

Chelsea fans will be impatiently looking forward to see Ballack once again on Stamford Bridge's soil and truly indeed it is going to be a sentimental return for the German Player.

Match Preview : UEFA - Borussia Dortmund vs Arsenal

Borussia Dortmund will host Arsenal side in the first group F match at the Signal-Iduna-Park on 13th September 2011 at 2.45pm EST and it will be live.

Borussia Dortmund

Borussia Dortmund shocked everyone when they proved everybody wrong by qualifying in the UEFA Champions League. The German side was the most least expected that they will qualify but at before the season was coming to an end, they lifted their confidence and morale, took it to a new level and showed the other German club and the fans what they are made of. Borussia did not make much signings in the transfer window but they look very confident with the team they currently have. Arsenal is their first target and Borussia look forward to make the most of it. Let us see if Borussia Dortmund can come up with something impressive at their own home ground against the gunners.

Arsenal

Arsenal's confidence will be slightly lifted after winning against Swansea City by 1-0. Despite not winning comprehensively, Arsenal will be looking to make a good start in their first match of the UEFA Champions League this season. Arsenal's opponent is a very challenging team and to make it even more tougher, Arsenal will be playing away. Injury concerns at very wrong times are becoming a very major problem now for the gunners and Arsene Wenger. Jack Wilshere, Tomas Rosicky, Abou Diaby, Thomas Vermalean are all out with minor and major injuries respectively. However the newly fresh bought defender and striker, Mertesacker and Arteta will be ready to fill in the gaps. Chu Yong Park and Andre Santos will be looking forward to make their debut for Arsenal against Borussia. It will be Arteta's first match in the UEFA Champions League after a very long time. Let us hope he keep his nerves and gives the best performance for the gunners. Let's go Arsenal!!

It is match which cannot be predicted. May the best team win.

Match Preview : UEFA - Barcelona vs AC Milan

Barcelona will host AC Milan in the first Group H match of the UEFA Champions League on 13th September 2011 at 2.45pm EST live from Nou Camp.

Barcelona

Currently there is no stopping Barcelona. They are the kings of football at the moment and they are ruling with pride. Barcelona did not lose any match in the UEFA group stages. The only match that Barcelona lost was against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium in the knockout stages in the first leg but mauled Arsenal with sheer quality in the second leg at the Nou Camp thanks to the gifted footballer Lionel Messi who was toying with the Arsenal defenders. Barcelona are also undefeated in the La Liga since last season. The only major signing which Barcelona captured was of the former Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas who returned back to his boyhood club. This saga of Cesc Fabregas continued for three years and it came to an end this summer season. What a saga it was!. Cesc Fabregas is likely to make his first debut in Barca colors in the UEFA Champions League. How excited would Fabregas be?

AC Milan

The five time winners of the UEFA Champions League are currently in disarray as they cannot win anything at the moment. There was a time when Milan were the super giants in this tournament but now they are nowhere to be seen. With the likes of Paulo Maldini retired, Filipo Inzaghi who may retire this season and the unmistakeable Ronaldinho gone back to his country, Milan look lost. But do not forget, Milan still got Robinho, Pato and the former Barcelona player Ibrahimovic who have great experience in this form of the tournament. Also they have the fully experienced Nesta and Seedorf who can create big problems for the Barcelona defense and striking

It is match not to be missed. Both team are have vast of experience. The odds rely more on Barcelona clinching this game but do underestimate AC Milan. They are a team which is still not to be messed. Make sure to Tune in to ESPN at the Right time :)

Match Review : Fulham vs Backburn

Fulham and Blackburn Rovers or commonly known as Blackburn have not made a good start in the Premier League. Fulham have only captured a single point in their first three games while Blackburn still have to get on the score sheet. Fulham lost to Newcastle two weeks ago by 2 goals to one which was a very heartbreaking game as Fulham looked the most promising side during the match.

With former Tottenham Boss Martin Jol back in the Premier League, there is chance that Fulham will once again see the glory of the Europa League but that is still too far to even think. Currently what Martin Jol has to do is to make his team win some games and gain their confidence back. Fulham brought in experienced Czech Republic international defender Zdanek Grygera on a season-long loan from Juventus and then added Bryan Ruiz as well a striker named Orlando Sa on free agent. This was a great swoop made by Fulham as both players have really good experience on the field. Grygera can really form a very good partnership with Hangeland at the back and create huge problems for their opponents.http://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif

Blackburn Rovers had an unstable transfer window with purposely not resigning El Hadji Diouf’s contract which created a lot of spark between the player and the board. Also with Christopher Samba who was linked with Arsenal heavily but did not go at the end really lowered the confidence and the morale of the team. Blackburn search for their first win of the season and it may have the possibility that it will come against an equal competitive Fulham Side.

Both sides are equally matched and it is very hard to call which team will win the game. To see this enthusing match and to see who will win this game, please be there to join us on 11th September 2011 on Sunday at 11.00am EST. Fulham will host Blackburn at Craven Cottage. Let’s go Fulham!.

Match Preview and Opinions : Bolton v Manchester united

Bolton Wanderers

In my opinion Owen Coyle had the toughest transfer window summer after Arsene Wenger. Owen Coyle was all around the saga of Gary Cahill linked with a move to Arsenal and he was done and dusted by the reporters always asking him whether the deal has been done or cancelled. But now since the transfer window has been slammed shut, Mr. Coyle can now be ready to think of the next step and can think of coaching the team with the current players he has plus some signings he and the board did over the summer. The good news were at the end, that the Englishman Gary Cahill did not move so which means he is still a Bolton Wanderers player hence being committed to the club until the next transfer window slams open. Bolton can now regain their senses back and should bounce back with a bang against Manchester United. This match will show us if Gary Cahill is truly committed to the club or not and whether he really wanted to leave or not.

Bolton Wanderers face a tough task this weekend as they host Manchester United at the Reebok Stadium. The home side have enjoyed a mixed start to their Premier League campaign having won one out of their three games so far this season.

The visitors on the other hand have made a blistering start to their campaign and in their last league outing trounced Arsenal 8-2 at Old Trafford. With the likes of Ashley Young and Wayne Rooney in top form the Champions will be a danger to any opposition.

Bolton will be boosted by the news that in-demand centre-back Gary Cahill didn’t leave on transfer deadline day. The England defender was expected to leave the Reebok for pastures new but a move failed to materialise.
Manchester United- Man Utd

Manchester United or also known by most of the fans all around the world as Man Utd or Man U are in massive top form by not only winning all their three beginning matches of the season but by winning them comfortably. The last match against Arsenal was a drubbing of 8-2 at the theater of dreams which marked a point to all the Barclays Premier League teams that Manchester United or Man utd is no longer a toy team and they are here to win all the trophies this season. Man Utd did not buy much players this season. They just brought in the goalkeeper David De Gea, Ashley Young and Phil Jones but those three players are having a time of their life and are really boosting up their careers. They are in top form at the moment. To me, by far Ashley Young was the best player signed by any Premier League team this summer transfer window. It looks a very comfortable win for Man Utd, but let us see if they can win against Bolton convincingly or not.

However, United will know that Bolton are not an easy team to beat and the Wanderers tend to raise their game when the big boys come to the Reebok Stadium. Trotters boss Owen Coyle is encouraging his side to play a passing game and it paid dividends last season.

Man utd or Manchester United’s manager Sir Alex Ferguson has lots of options available to him for this clash. The big decision is likely to be whether to select experienced defender Rio Ferdinand or stick with promising youngster Phil Jones at the heart of his defence.

One player who is unlikely to feature is young striker Danny Welbeck, who pulled a hamstring in that hammering of Arsenal.

Match Preview : Stoke City v Liverpool ?

Who will win? By how many goals ? Will any one get injured ? Save it, and We will answer all your questions in the Preview below!

Stoke City host Liverpool at the Britannia Stadium on Saturday afternoon. The home side made some impressive signings on deadline day. The Potters brought in England striker Peter Crouch and Honduran midfielder Wilson Palacios from Tottenham for close to £20million.

Stoke also secured the signing of Birmingham striker Cameron Jerome for a fee of £4million. The three signings have strengthened an already strong Stoke squad. And the club are hopeful of challenging for the European spots this season.

They have made a promising start to the season and are strong at home. However that home form will be tested by the visit of in-form Liverpool. The visitors are currently third in the Premier League table, after winning two and drawing one of their opening Premier League games.

Stoke made some great signings at the end of the deadline by grabbing the services of the Tottenham midfielder Wilson Palacios, the talented striker Cameron Jerome from the relegated Birmingham City and the most shocking was the former Liverpool man Peter Crouch on a permanent deal. Yes even though he was playing for Tottenham last season, but Crouch still used to play for Liverpool three to four seasons ago.

The Reds are looking good under Kenny Dalglish and are hoping to secure a place in the Champions League next season, by finishing in the top four of the Premier League. In their current form they look likely to achieve their objectives.

Their squad will boosted by the return of striker Craig Bellamy from Manchester City. The Striker arrived on a season-long loan deal on transfer deadline day. He is likely to make his debut in this clash.

Stoke’s new arrivals are also likely to be thrown in for their first appearances in this clash. Peter Crouch is expected to start up front with Wilson Palacios set to start in the heart of the midfield for the Potters.

Liverpool has to be favourites for this clash, due to their recent good form. However Stoke are no pushovers and it won’t be an easy game for the Merseysider’s. Stay tuned to see all the action here.

This has made Stoke City a very competitive team compared to last season and Liverpool should really not mess around. Liverpool won their last game at Anfield very comfortably while Stoke struggled in their last match against West Brom which led to 1-1 draw thus forcing the Stoke manager Tony Pulis to do some major signings at the end which he did that very well.

Stoke will be hosting Liverpool at the Brittania Stadium on Saturday 10th August 2011 at 10.00 am GMT Live. It will be a great match to watch and i don't know i feel that Stoke will create a massive upset against the resurrecting Liverpool team under Kenny Dalgish. Make sure to Tune in to ESPN at the right time ;)
